Meet Chiaroscuro: the dynamic pairing of Spanish/Swiss violinist Violeta Vicci and Cuban/British guitarist Ahmed Dickinson. Together, they blend classical elegance with Latin flair, bringing a rich palette of Spanish and Latin American sounds to life. Their performances move effortlessly between traditional folk melodies and contemporary works written especially for them by the likes of Grammy-nominated Eduardo Martín and celebrated composer Maria Camahort.

Both graduates of the Royal College of Music, Vicci and Dickinson first crossed paths as Concordia Foundation ambassadors. Since then, they’ve each built acclaimed solo careers, performed at legendary venues like Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and Philharmonie de Paris, and released a host of celebrated recordings.

Ahmed, known for his warm tone and effortless musicality, was nominated at the Latin American Music Awards UK for his transcriptions of José Antonio Riojas’ previously unpublished works. Songlines Magazine described his playing as “touching you to the core.”
Violeta’s solo album Mirror Images – a hauntingly beautiful mix of violin, viola and voice – was lauded by The Strad as “a remarkable concept album by a unique and imaginative solo performer,” and was even nominated for a Royal Philharmonic Award.

But it’s not all concert halls and international tours.
