A Selection of London Wedding Venues

A Selection of London Wedding Venues

London offers an exceptional range of wedding venues, each with its own character, scale and atmosphere. For planners and couples looking to create something considered and well put together, the setting plays a defining role.

At Wislocki Music, we have had the pleasure of providing live music at many of London’s most distinctive venues. These are spaces that naturally lend themselves to thoughtful planning, often with a wedding planner guiding the day from start to finish.

Below is a selection of venues that stand out for their atmosphere and the kind of celebrations they host.

The Old Sessions House

The Old Sessions House brings together history and contemporary design in a way that feels both impressive and welcoming. With grand interiors, sweeping staircases and a rooftop space, it offers flexibility throughout the day. It works particularly well for weddings that move between formal and more relaxed moments.

Ognisko, South Kensington

Ognisko offers a more intimate setting within a historic South Kensington townhouse. Known for its elegant dining rooms and strong sense of character, weddings here tend to focus on atmosphere, food and conversation. Music often sits gently in the background, adding to the experience without taking over.

Natural History Museum

For scale and impact, the Natural History Museum is hard to match. A wedding in Hintze Hall creates an immediate sense of occasion, surrounded by remarkable architecture. It is a venue that requires careful coordination, and when everything comes together, the result is striking and memorable.

The Savoy

The Savoy is one of London’s most recognisable wedding venues. Known for its service and heritage, it offers a setting that feels timeless. Weddings here often balance tradition with a modern feel, and live music plays a natural part in shaping the atmosphere across the day.

The Ned

The Ned brings a more contemporary feel to central London weddings. With a range of spaces, from smaller rooms to larger, lively settings, it allows for a celebration that develops throughout the day. It suits weddings where the energy builds naturally from drinks reception through to the evening.

Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park

Set within Richmond Park, Pembroke Lodge offers a softer, more relaxed setting while still feeling close to the city. The gardens and views create a beautiful backdrop for outdoor ceremonies and drinks, while the indoor spaces provide structure for the rest of the day.

Fitzrovia Chapel

Fitzrovia Chapel is one of London’s more unique ceremony spaces. Its intricate design and smaller scale create a focused, atmospheric setting. It is particularly suited to ceremonies that feel personal and considered, where every detail is carefully chosen.

Sky Garden

Sky Garden offers a modern setting with panoramic views across London. The space is light and open, making it ideal for couples looking for a city wedding with a strong visual impact. Music here often complements the setting with a relaxed, contemporary feel.

Bringing Everything Together

What links all of these venues is not just their quality, but the level of detail involved in planning within them. Each space comes with its own considerations, from layout to acoustics to the overall flow of the day.

From our perspective, it is always about understanding the venue and selecting music that suits it. Whether that is a string quartet in a historic space, a jazz duo during drinks or a full band in the evening, the aim is to ensure everything feels natural within the setting.

London offers no shortage of exceptional venues. With the right approach, each one can become the backdrop to a wedding that feels effortless, welcoming and well considered.

Garden Party Music Ideas for Summer Events

Garden Party Music Ideas for Summer Events

With the recent run of grey skies and rain across the UK, it feels only right to start looking ahead to summer. When it arrives, garden parties quickly return to the calendar, bringing with them a different pace and a different kind of atmosphere.

Outdoor events have a natural ease to them, but they also come with their own considerations. Space, access, volume and power all play a part in shaping what works well. Choosing the right musicians is often less about scale and more about suitability. We recently shared a reel highlighting some of the details that are often overlooked when booking musicians for outdoor events, from power access to positioning within the space. It is well worth a watch if you are planning ahead.

Music That Works Naturally Outdoors

For garden parties, the most successful formats tend to be those that feel relaxed and adaptable.

Acoustic musicians, jazz trios and roaming bands are particularly well suited to outdoor settings. Many of these artists can perform without power, require only a small footprint and are able to adjust their set to suit the flow of the event. This flexibility is especially valuable when timings shift or when the event moves from afternoon drinks into an evening celebration.

Another advantage is scalability. Many smaller ensembles can expand later in the day, adding musicians to create a fuller sound as the atmosphere builds.

A Few Thoughtful Options

At Wislocki Music, we work with a wide range of artists who are particularly well suited to outdoor events. A few that lend themselves beautifully to garden party settings include:

Nockles Jones Duo

A distinctive jazz pairing of trumpet and double bass. Their sound is warm, characterful and ideal for relaxed drinks receptions or early evening gatherings.

Sol Duo

An acoustic guitar and vocal duo with a repertoire rooted in Brazilian music and Bossa Nova, alongside reimagined contemporary songs. A natural fit for sunlit, laid-back settings.

The Rays Roaming Band

Available from a duo through to a five-piece, this roaming band can perform without power, moving through the space and interacting naturally with guests. A particularly engaging option for larger garden parties.

Acoustic Vibes Duo

One of our longest-standing acts, offering a versatile acoustic set that suits a wide range of styles and settings. Reliable, adaptable and easy to integrate into any outdoor event.

A Considered Approach

Outdoor events benefit from a slightly different way of thinking. Rather than filling a space, the aim is often to complement it. Music should sit comfortably within the surroundings, enhancing the atmosphere without competing with it.

For planners and venues, this often means choosing artists who are experienced in outdoor performance, understand how to work without full technical setups and can adapt to the natural rhythm of the day.

At Wislocki Music, we take care to match each artist not only to the event, but to the setting itself. Garden parties may feel informal, but when thoughtfully planned, they can be some of the most memorable events of the season.

And when the sun does make an appearance, there are few better settings for live music.

Live Music at Corporate Events: A Considered Approach

Live Music at Corporate Events: A Considered Approach

Corporate events come in many forms. Some are structured and content-led, others centre around hospitality and relationship building. Increasingly, they share a common priority: creating an atmosphere that reflects the brand while feeling effortless for guests.

Recently, we provided music for Lloyd’s List Intelligence following a seminar within the shipping industry. After an afternoon of focused discussion, guests moved into a drinks reception. The transition needed to feel natural. Engaging, yet measured.

Abi Rose Sax

For this, we curated a DJ and saxophone pairing performing an Ibiza and Café del Mar inspired background set. The music introduced warmth and rhythm into the space, subtly shifting the mood from formal to relaxed. The live saxophone added texture and visual presence, while the DJ ensured a smooth, cohesive sound throughout. It created energy without interrupting conversation.

A different brief came from Berkeley Homes for an agents’ dinner. The tone was intimate and refined. We suggested a jazz duo of voice and guitar to provide soft background music during the meal. The result was elegant and unobtrusive, adding depth to the room while allowing discussion and connection to remain central.

On a larger scale, we recently worked on a corporate retreat at the beautiful De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor. For this event, the Giggle Group wanted to create a genuine sense of impact. They chose our identical twin violinists to deliver a performance that was as visually striking as it was musically dynamic. To elevate the experience further, the musicians collaborated with exceptional artists from Cirque Bijou, blending live music with carefully choreographed visual spectacle. The result was immersive and energising, setting the tone for a high-end retreat designed to inspire and engage its audience.

Stereo Twins

These events differ in scale, format and ambition, yet they share the same foundation. Live music works best when it is carefully matched to the purpose of the occasion.

Our roster spans acoustic duos, jazz ensembles, DJ and live musician combinations, string quartets, contemporary bands and more visually impactful performers for larger productions. The breadth allows us to respond thoughtfully to each brief, whether the aim is subtle sophistication or a bold focal point.

Equally important is selection. Every artist we work with is chosen not only for musical excellence, but for professionalism and awareness of context. Corporate environments demand sensitivity to timing, production requirements and guest experience. The music should enhance, never compete.

Goldust

For venues and planners hosting corporate events, live music offers more than background sound. When thoughtfully curated, it shapes the energy of a room, supports transitions and adds a layer of refinement that feels considered rather than decorative.

Approached with care, it becomes part of the event’s character, woven seamlessly into the experience itself.

6 Ways to Elevate Your Event

6 Ways to Elevate Your Event

Whether you are planning a wedding, a private celebration or a corporate event, the most memorable occasions are those that feel considered, immersive and personal. At Wislocki Music, we see first hand how the right combination of atmosphere, entertainment and thoughtful detail can completely transform an event. While live music plays a central role, it is the way all elements work together that truly elevates the experience.

Decide on Your Vibe and Make Everything Fit

The strongest events begin with a clear sense of style. Deciding on your overall vibe early allows every choice to feel intentional, from the venue and decor to the dress code, food and entertainment. A sun soaked Italian inspired celebration might call for long tables, flowing linens and live acoustic music during aperitivo. A winter wonderland theme lends itself to candlelight, rich textures and elegant string music. Garden parties suit relaxed styling, seasonal florals and upbeat live sets, while an Oktoberfest theme naturally pairs with brass bands, shared tables and lively crowds. When everything fits the same vision, the event feels cohesive and elevated rather than busy or disjointed.

Set the Tone from the Moment Guests Arrive

First impressions matter. Welcoming guests with a drink and live music immediately sets the atmosphere and signals that this is an event worth settling into. A string quartet, jazz trio or acoustic musician can gently shape the mood, encouraging conversation and easing guests into the experience. This early moment often defines how people remember the event as a whole, and live music creates warmth and anticipation in a way that playlists rarely can.

Work with an Event Planner You Trust

Elevated events rarely happen by accident. Working with an experienced event planner allows you to focus on enjoying the occasion while knowing the details are being handled. At Wislocki Music, we love working alongside planners who understand the importance of timing, flow and collaboration. When there is someone overseeing the wider picture, every supplier can work confidently and creatively, which results in a smoother, more polished event for everyone involved.

Create a Dance Floor Moment

No matter the style of event, there is something powerful about a shared moment on the dance floor. Live bands and DJs with musicians bring energy, connection and spontaneity that draws people together. Whether it is a full band, a DJ with saxophone or percussion, or a carefully timed transition from background music to party atmosphere, this is often where memories are made. Dancing the night away gives your event a sense of release and celebration that guests will talk about long after it ends.

Choose an Exclusive Use Venue

An exclusive use venue adds a sense of intimacy and importance that is hard to replicate. Having the space entirely to yourselves allows guests to relax, explore and fully immerse themselves in the event. It also gives you greater freedom with timings, music and layout, which is particularly valuable when incorporating live performances. For clients who value privacy, flow and atmosphere, exclusive use venues are often a key part of creating something truly special.

Surprise Your Guests with Something Unexpected

Finally, consider adding an element of surprise. This could be a champagne tower, personalised cocktails, live illustration or engraving, singing waiters, or a fire dancer appearing alongside a DJ later in the evening. These moments do not need to be over the top. Thoughtful, well timed surprises delight guests and elevate the overall experience, making the event feel unique and personal.

At Wislocki Music, we believe elevated events are built on atmosphere, connection and attention to detail. Live music is often the heartbeat, but it is the way everything works together that makes an event unforgettable.

A Summer Wedding at Manor by the Lake

A Summer Wedding at Manor by the Lake

Richard and Rowena’s wedding was a beautiful summer celebration set in the heart of the Cotswolds at Manor by the Lake. With warm sunshine, elegant styling and live music woven through the day, it was the kind of wedding that felt relaxed, joyful and full of personality.

The ceremony took place outdoors in the gardens, making the most of the summer weather and the surrounding landscape. Guests gathered beneath clear skies as the Teodora String Quartet played, providing a gentle and romantic soundtrack that suited the setting perfectly. Live strings added depth and emotion to the ceremony, enhancing each moment without ever feeling intrusive. The sound carried naturally across the garden, creating an intimate atmosphere despite the open space.

Following the ceremony, guests moved through the venue to enjoy drinks, conversation and the stunning surroundings. Manor by the Lake offers a wonderful balance of grandeur and warmth, and it provided an ideal backdrop for the day as it unfolded. The floral design by Stephanie Saunders echoed the soft, seasonal feel of the setting, while the stationery from Olive & Milllicent  and live illustrations by Katy Locke Design added thoughtful detail throughout the celebration.

As evening arrived, the focus shifted to the reception and the energy lifted. For the evening party, we provided Velvet Groove Showband, who delivered a confident and engaging performance that quickly filled the dance floor. Their set brought together great musicianship and a strong connection with the crowd, creating a lively atmosphere that carried the celebration late into the night. Choosing a live band for the evening gave the reception a sense of occasion and momentum that kept guests involved from the first song onwards.

Every element of the day worked beautifully together. Hair by Roxy Farrier and Make Up by Chloe Hill completed Rowena’s look, while the cake and desserts from The Willow Tree Bakery were a highlight for many guests. Something Borrowed Event Hire provided tableware that complemented the venue perfectly, and Moo Muu Media added an extra layer of fun with a photobooth that proved popular throughout the evening. The day was captured expertly by Jessica Raphael Photography and Dream Team Photo Video, preserving both the big moments and the quieter details.

It was a pleasure for Wislocki Music to provide live music for such a warm and joyful wedding. From the outdoor ceremony in the Cotswolds sunshine to the packed dance floor in the evening, Richard and Rowena’s wedding was a wonderful example of how live music can shape the feel of a day and create lasting memories.
